Technical Embedded Software Project Manager

The Technical Software Project Manager will represent the SW Development organization in cross-functional teams trusted with defining, developing, releasing, and maintaining products and solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a Technical Project Manager to apply his/her knowledge to deliver innovative products to the retail marketplace. You'll be able to work with an outstanding team of professionals and experience the fruits of your labor in products worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully lead complex projects by guiding a development team to define, plan, deliver and support high-quality embedded software products and solutions.
  • Ensure each team is consistently applying Agile and development practices within each group.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Demos, Retrospectives, Grooming, Phase planning).
  • Provide regular Executive Updates at the end of each sprint
  • Organize and plan the product feature-function content, working with the product group on prioritization and technical leadership on sizing and dependencies.
  • Work with technical leadership to develop product release schedules, committing those schedules to the business and ensuring timely execution.
  • Present project status and recommendations to management.
  • Complete all work items including regulatory requirements, product classifications, and ensure that products meet industry standards.
  • Interact with stakeholders to discuss product functionality, performance, plans, and field support escalations
  • Identify and resolve problems, gaps, and challenges in the embedded software engineering processes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to bring different groups of people together to collaborate in a community setting
  • Foster an environment of collaboration, trust, and accountability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related software engineering / computer science field
  • 2+ years of Technical Project Management experience with a development background in enterprise environment
  • Experience with embedded software and embedded systems
  • Experience in GitLab, SVN, and Microsoft Office Tools or similar
  • Strong leadership skills and a strong sense of ownership
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with global teams
  • Embedded Software Development Life Cycle expertise with a minimum of 2 years of experience in various capacities
  • Comfortable working “in the weeds” with development teams and at a portfolio level with high-level executives
  • Excellent risk and change management skills
  • Experience with the Agile/Scrum process applied to embedded software development
  • Able to define and utilize key metrics to enable and drive continuous improvement

 

Preferred Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of embedded software development Project Management experience
  • Experience with Scaled Agile
  • Agile or equivalent certifications
  • Working knowledge of project management tools such as GitLab, SVN, Microsoft Planner, MS Project
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
  • Domain knowledge in Consumer HID human interface device products
  • Expectation is 10% travel
