John Doherty has been influential in the industry development of desktop and mobile computing for many years. He managed the definition and development of several of Apple early desktop and notebook platforms specializing in input interfaces and devices. After leaving Apple in 1994, John joined Dell where he managed the definition and development of several industry leadership notebooks and peripherals. After leaving Dell in 2001, he was a co-founder of Motion Computing Inc. While at Motion Mr. Doherty achieved the title of “Motion Fellow” where his team lead the world in commercialization of tablet computing and pen based input. As Senior VP of Engineering he led all of their platform and peripheral development, including internal and external engineering efforts. He engineered the integration of all of Motion’s pen, touch, and display subsystems into their line of ruggedized Tablet PC’s. Throughout Mr. Doherty’s career, he has played a leadership role in managing domestic, and Asian design partnerships.
