ASIC Chip Design Lead

Responsibilities

Sigma Sense is developing state of the art touch controller ASICs for its breakthrough touch technology. We are seeking an ASIC Design leader for our next generation chips. Must have a strong background and recent hands-on experience with SOC design. Must have experience in chip design and verification methodologies, mixed signal chip integration, DFT implementation, low power design, silicon debugging, proven leadership and experience working with crossfunctional engineers, including contractors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Play lead role in delivering ASICs over the full development cycle including tape out, validation and ATE testing.
  • Provide technical leadership and make technical decisions on ASIC front-end, back-end and post silicon activities.
  • Take responsibility for planning chip development and align execution with program management.
  • Utilize and enhance best practices for ASIC development and drive successful execution for on-time and first-time right silicon delivery.
  • Take ownership for evaluating and selecting IPs, including foundation IPs, and for making buy or build decisions.
  • Provide leadership in ASIC design methodologies and EDA tool selections
  • Work with chip architect and cross-functional team members on chip-definition including pin out and package selection.
  • Identify risks as well as risk mitigation strategies on chip projects.
  • Drive and coordinate ASIC PPA analysis, articulate design and implementation trade-offs and participate in chip definition.
  • Work with chip architect and verification lead to ensure chip is fully verified to ensure first time silicon success.
  • Take responsibility for pre-silicon FPGA validation.
  • Work with software and systems team to validate silicon and resolve any silicon issues.

Qualifications

  • 15 years’ or more experience in SOC design and verification with 10 years as a chip lead.
  • Require successful track record for executing and delivering ASICs for production
  • Experienced with designing and implementing low power mixed signal SOCs.
  • Experienced with embedded processor (ARM core, RISC-V, Tensilica or others) based SOC design and knowledgeable in industry standard interface IPs
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in DSP design is highly desirable.
  • Strong background and experience with ASIC flows.
  • Has good communication skill and teamwork personality
  • Must have a BS in EE or related, MS in EE preferred

ASIC Verification Lead/Manager

Responsibilities

Sigma Sense is developing state of the art touch controller ASICs for its breakthrough touch technology. We are seeking an ASIC Verification leader to head up the verification team working on next generation chips. Must have a strong background and recent hands-on experience with SOC verification. Must have expertise in modern verification methodologies, proven leadership, and ability to guide and mentor a team of verification engineers, including contractors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead ASIC verification team, develop test plans and ensure successful execution of the plans.
  • Deliver verification test benches and infrastructure to meet all the verification requirements for Sigma Sense mixed signal SOCs targeted at touch controller and other
  • IOT applications.
  • Deliver detailed test plans for verification of power aware mixed signal design by working with design engineers and architect
  • Create and enhance constrained-random verification environments using System Verilog and UVM
  • Work with architect and system engineers to understand use cases and create SOC test code for execution on embedded processor models to verify design meets functional requirements.
  • Generate coverage reports to identify verification gaps and enhance tests to ensure design complies with chip specs
  • Debug tests with design engineers to deliver functionally correct design blocks.
  • Develop and implement test plans for gate level simulations and power simulations
  • Maintain and enhance DV flow setup.
  • Support chip validation team and testing team for test vector generation and system bring up. Work with validation team to debug any silicon issues.

Qualifications

  • 15 years or more experience in SOC verification with at least 5 years leading/managing a verification team
  • Has solid background and understanding on all DV concepts and methodologies including assertion, coverage, test bench structure and flow set up
  • Has hands on experience on low-power verification methodology and UPF
  • Has hands on experience on constrained randomization, block level and top-level FW driven verification methods
  • Has hands on experience with embedded processor (ARM core, RISC-V, Tensilica or others) based SOC verification
  • Has experiences with assembly language/C language/Verilog/System Verilog
  • Knowledge and experience in verification of DSP modules in SOC is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of methodologies and experience in verification of mixed signal designs is highly desirable.

DSP ASIC Design Staff Engineer

Responsibilities
Sigma Sense is developing state of the art touch controller ASICs using its break through sensing technology that makes extensive use of digital signal processing techniques. We are seeking a key DSP ASIC Design Staff Engineer for architecting and designing the DSP modules on our next generation chips. Must have a strong background and recent hands-on experience with design of major DSP functions in ASICs.
Job Responsibilities

  • Use your DSP and ASIC design expertise to architect, design, implement, and verify the DSP and digital blocks for the ASIC.
  • Work closely with our DSP algorithm and system experts to define and develop DSP modules for implementation in our ASICs.
  • Implement your DSP functions in Verilog and perform block level verification.
  • Work with analog design engineers to Integrate and interface with high performance analog sensing and signal processing circuits to achieve high SNR and low power.
  • Work with verification engineers to establish effective verification strategies, test plans and participate in fully verifying chip DSP functions.
  • Participate in all aspects of full ASIC design activities including definition, architectures,
  • DSP design, digital logic design, verification, and validation of DSP functions of the chip in the lab.
  • Participate actively with other ASIC team members in debugging any design issues.
  • Document your design and participate in cross functional design reviews to ensure quality delivery of DSP functional blocks and its integration in the full ASIC.

Qualifications

  • 10 years’ experience in DSP IC design
  • Must have a good understanding of DSP algorithms and DSP system specifications with expertise in mapping them to ASIC design
  • Experience in micro-architecture design, RTL coding in Verilog/System Verilog and functional verification at the block and DSP module level is required
  • Must be able to make trade-off analysis between area, performance and power of DSP blocks in conjunction with rest of the chip
  • Well versed with ASIC design flow and proficient in using ASIC design and verification tools
  • Must have good understanding of synchronous/asynchronous design and timing requirements for complex DSP modules
  • Ability to understand and code in C/C++ and Matlab is highly desirable
  • Has good communication skill and team work personality
  • Must have a BS in EE or equivalent, MS in EE with specialization in DSP preferred

Quality Systems Manager - Austin TX

SigmaSense® is now searching for a leader of our Quality Systems and Processes. The Quality Systems Manger will build and lead the quality team. The role will be based at Austin, Texas with responsibility across all locations. Create, Manage, and improve the Quality Management System, through effective planning, and coordinating with other departments, in ISO 9001:2015 in our Austin, TX site.

You Will:

  • Build, manage and improve QMS, working with other external QA and internal auditors effectively.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to get ISO 9001 certified.
  • Orchestrate and manage processes and procedure improvements by referencing and adopting best practices in semiconductor industry.
  • Proactively provide guidance, recommendations, and training to engineering teams on how best to address Quality though Processes and best practices.
  • Drive a proactive approach to quality into our engineering development so we meet and exceed the evolving demands of the customer in our markets
  • Responsible for all Quality related governance including management quality reviews, risk reviews, and partner quality updates

You Bring:

Software Engineer - Austin TX, Boise ID

Headquartered in Austin, TX, SigmaSense® provides semiconductor and board level products with development tools and support.

We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer to design, develop and install software solutions. Software Engineer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, defining system functionality and writing code in various languages, like Java, Python, .NET programming languages (e.g. C++ or JScript.NET.). Our ideal candidates are familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment. Ultimately, the role of the Software Engineer is to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software that complies with coding standards and technical design.
