SigmaSense adds Okaya to provide sales and support in Japan

December 8, 2020 – SigmaSense LLC, a performance market leader in touch sensing, today announced its engagement with Okaya & Co., Ltd. and Okaya Electronics Corp., one of Japan’s largest electronics distributors to provide business development and customer support in Japan.

SigmaSense enables all-new interactive experiences with responsive interaction on and above all surfaces, not just screens, at unprecedented speeds. The company’s SigmaDrive technology delivers over 100X performance advantages compared to what exists today. Touchless interaction using hover and sensing above the screen is rapidly becoming an essential feature in a post-COVID world.

“Our partnership with OKAYA will accelerate SigmaSense’s expansion and customer support in the Japan region,” said Steve Sedaker, CMO at SigmaSense. “This support is especially important for the Display and Automotive markets where OKAYA has had a very strong presence.”

“Okaya is a global trading company that handles various industrial products into various markets. We are deeply involved with the display business in Signage, KIOSK, ATM and Automotive markets.” said Gen Mitobe, Senior General Manager, Electric & Electronics Division, Okaya & Co. Ltd. “SigmaSense is a revolutionary touch sensing company that enables customers to develop additional value. Their high sensitivity technology brings new types of sensing, such as hover that provides non-touch sensing in a post COVID-19 world.”

SigmaDrive Technology
SigmaSense’s unique SigmaDrive current mode delta sigma technology provides interactive displays with performance and capabilities previously thought unobtainable by the industry. Many industry first performance breakthroughs such as signal-to-noise (SNR) over 100 times greater than existing industry solutions creating discontinuities in the industry and marshaling in new user experiences. For example, non-touch interaction is now possible for interactive displays using only the projected capacitance (PCap) sensor and SigmaSense’s touch controller. This is possible because each SigmaDrive technology touch sensor channel has a dedicated sigma-delta modulator achieving extremely high SNR even while using a very low drive voltage.

About SigmaSense®
SigmaSense, the global leader in touch sensing performance, is changing the world of traditional analog sensing solutions with a new advanced digital approach. We are pioneering a comprehensive sensing technology that delivers an order of magnitude improved performance that was previously not possible. SigmaVision™ capacitive imaging technology provides both touch and object detection on or in proximity to the sensing surface, thus enabling a new generation of perceptive devices that are interactive and engaging. Products that utilize sensing surfaces ranging in size from small wearables to surfaces larger than 100 inches can now adopt a superior sensing experience that reduces costs and lowers design risk. Headquartered in Austin, TX, SigmaSense provides semiconductor products with development tools and support.
